The City of Oakley is seeking master planning architectural services for the redevelopment of its Rodeo Grounds. The Oakle Rodeo will celebrate its 90th year in 2025 and is ranked one of the top rodeos in the country. The event spans five-days over the course of the Fourth of July Weekend every year in Oakley Utah and attracts thousands of attendees every year selling out its current capacity of 5,700 seats in the outdoor arena within days of ticket sales opening.
The grounds include a 5,700 person outdoor seating arena, barn for animals and contestant preparation, a skybridge for pedestrian traffic to cross the animal traffic corridor, a 400-person capacity indoor arena, an outdoor practice/warm-up arena, 196 parking stalls and 10 RV hookups.
The popularity of the Rodeo has outgrown its current capacity, necessitating a major overhaul to accommodate existing and future demand, increase revenue opportunities, and strategically position the arena for future growth. The ideal design will increase seating capacity at the outdoor arena, improve foot traffic flow and interactions between attendees, participants, and animals on the grounds, improve washroom and changing room/shower facilities for the public and contestants, and provide additional opportunities for vendor participation.
The City has recently completed a feasibility study for the Arena Complex with the consulting group, CSL International, Minneapolis, MN, that is attached below for supporting documentation.
