I feel truly grateful and blessed to have grown up and raise my family in Oakley. As a child, I also had the privilege of living in a small town just outside Preston, Idaho. My childhood was spent on over 80+ acres of farming and hunting land, where we raised cattle, quarter horses, pigs, grew hay, and engaged in many other agriculture activities. I graduated high school with a close-knit class of 28 students. Throughout my life, I have been immersed in the values of hard work and the rural community. I am extremely passionate about it, and I deeply appreciate the unique blessings of living in a small rural town. I come from a long legacy of cattle ranchers, horse racers, farmers, businessmen, and rodeo.
I have been fortunate to own a business for many years and recently completed nursing school, as well as becoming board certified in functional, holistic, and integrated medicine. I have been the head of the Kamas Valley Fiesta Days Rodeo for three years and work hard to not only help keeping their celebration a hometown feel, but also to introduce and integrate exciting new possibilities while never forgetting the purpose and traditions. I am proud to acknowledge our first responders and military one night of the rodeo as well as having a solute to farmers and ranchers on the other night of the rodeo.
I strongly believe in supporting and maintaining our rural way of life through farming, ranching, and hunting. It’s important to me that we find balanced ways to progress without losing the close-knit, hometown atmosphere that makes our community special. Coming from a family of cattle ranchers, horse racers, farmers, teachers/ educators and business entrepreneurs, I understand the significance of these roots. I am a mother and wife first, and I believe in the importance of old-fashioned family values and a community where neighbors help one another.
I am passionate about supporting families, ranchers, farmers, our military, and first responders. I believe that we can work towards improving our community while cherishing the farm rural lifestyle we all hold dear, a place where families can thrive and feel at home. I also place great importance on the power of prayer and community unity.
I am committed to working hard for Oakley and its residents. If there is a need, I will do everything I can to contribute positively. I promise to be honest, understanding, open-minded, and attentive to your thoughts, concerns, and ideas.
Lastly, The Oakley 4th of July celebration is especially meaningful to me. Over the years, I have participated in the rodeo as a barrel racer, worked as a contractor, and from a young age, I had the opportunity to follow my grandpa Ken around, witnessing his efforts in producing successful rodeos and seeing his passion for our town and its festivities firsthand. I hope to honor his example and continue to help enhance our celebration and community each year, always remembering the history and heritage that make Oakley such a special place.
